Q.  How do I pay for my registration?
A.  You can register online and pay with a credit card. Once registration is complete, you will be assigned a registration number.

Q.  When is the registration deadline?
A.  Black Alumni Reunion 2016 registration closes on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. Walk-in registrations may be taken, based on availability, with a $20 walk-in fee added to your registration per person.

Q.  Will walk-in registration be available?
A.  Yes, starting at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Reunion registration closes on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11:59 p.m. After registration closes, late registrations and walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis only and will be charged an additional $20 late registration fee per person.

Q.  How much does it cost to attend the reunion weekend?
A.  Black Alumni Reunion 2016 full member registration is $210 with an Early registration rates of $190 if you register by Oct. 1, 2016 ,and $140 if you register by July 30, 2016. All weekend events are included in the registration cost. Special discounts apply for Penn State Alumni Association members.

Q.  What if my plans change and I need to cancel my registration?
A.  The cancellation deadline for a refund is Oct. 1, 2016. There will be a $5 processing fee applied to all cancellations. After Oct 1, cancellations are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given for missed events. Requests to change or cancel registrations can be submitted to the Alumni Association by mail, email, or fax prior to Oct. 1, 2016.

Please note that donations to the AAAO Trustee Scholarship and other Penn State scholarships are non-refundable.

Q.  Can I request special meals because of dietary restrictions?
A.  Yes. The online registration includes a space to indicate any dietary restrictions. Please notify your server prior to each meal so that you receive the appropriate menu items.

Q.  Can you accommodate special needs?
A.  Alumni with special needs are encouraged to attend Black Alumni Reunion weekend. We want those with physical challenges to have as few obstacles as possible during their stay and to be able to participate fully in reunion activities.

All buses used during Black Alumni Reunion weekend are wheelchair accessible, and most campus buildings and facilities have ramps or elevators. Click here to view a Penn State access map. If you anticipate any difficulties, please call the Alumni Association at 800-548-5466, option 4. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

Q.  What is the schedule of events?
A.  You can access the schedule of events by clicking on the Schedule tab at the top of this page.

Q.  What is the attire for the weekend?
A.  Suggested attire for the weekend is business casual during the day. We recommend comfortable clothes and shoes for walking around campus. Average daytime temperatures in State College in October are in the low-60s, with evening temperatures in the low-50s. Be sure to bring an umbrella and rain gear, just in case.

Q.  What hotels do you recommend?
A.  The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel is the Black Alumni Reunion 2016 host hotel.  For Black Alumni Reunion 2016 registered attendees, the per night discounted room rate is Up to 90 days before arrival: $ applicable taxes (single/double occupancy), 90 to 60  days before arrival: $139 plus applicable taxes (single/double occupancy), 60 to 45 days before arrival: $189 plus applicable taxes (single/double occupancy), within 45 days before arrival: Best Available Rate plus applicable taxes (single/double occupancy), Note: The Black Alumni Reunion 2016 block will be released on Sept. 14, 2016, or when sold out.

There are numerous hotels throughout the State College area. The Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau website includes listings for hotels, bed and breakfasts, and other lodging options.

Reunion registrants need to make their own hotel or lodging reservations. Priority will be given to registered attendees for the Black Alumni Reunion room block.

Q.  What are the best ways to travel to campus?
A.  The Penn State Visitor’s Guide includes driving directions, parking information, and more.

By bus: Fullington Trailways (814-238-1100) and Greyhound Lines (814-238-7971) connections are available to and from State College. The Bus Terminal is located at 152 N. Atherton St.

By air:  University Park Airport (SCE) is located five miles from campus, and is serviced by Delta, Northwest Airlink, United Express, and US Airways Express. Private or charter aircraft may fly into University Park Airport. Please call 814-865-5511 to make arrangements. Harrisburg International Airport, 90 miles from State College, offers an alternative arrival and departure location. Airlines serving Harrisburg include Air Canada, American Eagle, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, and US Airways.

Q.  Where do I park for the reunion?
A.  Overnight guests of The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel do not need a pass or permit to park there, as it is located off campus.

Q.  What if I have a handicapped parking pass?
A.  Limited handicapped parking is available on campus. Please contact the Penn State University Parking Office for specific parking availibility.

Q.  How do I get around campus for the weekend?
A.  Shuttle buses for select Black Alumni Reunion 2016 weekend events will be provided. All buses are air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. The Penn Stater also offers shuttle service for its guests.
